About Me

I am currently working as a Scientist at The MITRE Corporation. I like working on interdisciplinary hard problems and using mathematics to understand complex situations.

I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics, Ph.D minor in Statistics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December 2023. I was advised by Dr. Richard Rebarber (Mathematics) and Dr. Brigitte Tenhumberg (Biological Sciences). In Spring 2021, I was awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. In graduate school, I studied mathematical biology and ecological modeling. Specifically, I used game theory to explore allocation strategies that plants employ. Some tools in game theory I liked using include applying a public goods game to a spatial evolutionary game (i.e., on a grid) and observing how the strategies used by plants change.

In my free time, I enjoy running, hanging out with my cat, and exploring new places in Lincoln (and elsewhere!). I also co-started a wine blog in early 2023 where we try a new wine each week and document our tasting notes and details about the wine. (Here's a link to the blog if you're interested!) I've also worked on some coding projects on the side. In late 2022, I made a music database explorer for a friend using the R Shiny app interface. (And here's a link to the app if you're interested!)
